A recent project for Stonehill College

I recently had the pleasure of working with the great marketing team from Stonehill College.
They asked me to create a series of photograph's of a group of students and teachers to portray the energy and vitality of their unique small liberal art's college.

We had a fun high-energy sessions.

Lest I forget, we shot their mascot, Ace, too!

Boston Photo Workshops.

Wednesday Night Lights

The first is a series of nine, individual two-hour + Wednesday night workshops on lighting techniques for people photography.

Each Wednesday night from 7-9 PM will be a different workshop on light and lighting.

Each session will cover a single topic in depth from theory to use, with hands on participation by attendees.

Visual impressions of Italy 2011

Just returned from a 2 week trip to Italy.

We traveled from Rome to Tuscany and finished in Venice.

We where lucky enough to go off season and really got to experience life in Italy without the intrusion of the tourist masses.

Wonderful people, wonderful country.

Is color back?

Recently a favorite client came into the studio for some fresh looks for his company.

He specifically asked for looks that would be different and stand out from the usual.

What a pleasure to be asked to do some portraiture thats not the usual "suits on white" look so prevalent in the last few years.

Here is his earlier portrait I shot:

He asked for a green background with a variety of looks so in the following hour and a half, this is what we came up with.

All in all a fun session with a great client !

of Heloisa Fitzgerald's gorgeous jewelry.

She was an absolute delight to work with.

From the American Idol folks comes a new realty show hosted on the Web only.

I was asked to shoot the 5 "dreamers" featured on the show during their whirlwind trip through Boston this past Sunday.

A new project for the Gaila fund for women with cancer.

The Gaila Fund was created to address the emotional effects of hair loss and the financial issues that often arise with cancer.
Gaila salutes the beauty and spirit of female cancer patients. This non-profit organization provides patients with stylish hats at no cost and educational and financial programs that foster financial independence.
Hair loss takes a toll on women's sense of self and femininity. The Gaila conveys beauty, whimsy, elegance and fun - not illness. Wearing a Gaila lifts the spirits and it's free for cancer patients. To support friends with cancer, others can buy them, which helps make fund the free hats.

The Gaila fund's new site will soon be live @ http://www.gailafund.org/

How great is it to work in a creative profession? Is there anything more fun than making photographs? For me, it's what drives everything else, the hard work of doing business about 90% of what we do, pales in comparison to the time behind the camera. I'm sure it's the same for all other creatives too. Need another meeting anyone?

A session with Steve Pagliuca

Today I had the opportunity to photograph Steve Pagliuca, candidate for Senate, during a video shooting at Massachusetts Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC), a group dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse. He's their chairman.

The shoot was for his direct mail, watch your mailboxes...

I didn't find out too much about his politics but he's seems like a good guy and he can play B-ball !

Chronicle (WCVB-TV) recently aired a show on photography.
One of the segments featured "Flashes of Hope" including a recent shoot we did at Boston's Floating Hospital for Children.

Recently, I had the privilege to photograph another great group of kids for "Flashes of Hope" at Children's Hospital in Boston.

Flashes of Hope is a nonprofit dedicated to creating uplifting portraits of kids fighting cancer & other life-threatening diseases.

ASMP is the largest association of working professional photographers in the US with 39 chapters.

My big move

After 23 years on Boston's waterfront the studio has moved to a new location.

As of January 1st my studio is now located at 416 West Broadway, Boston, MA 02127.

We have a new bright and shiny shooting space with easy ground level access.

Fan Pier event-Boston Waterfront

Production of the live event " Fan Pier comes to life"

The project included the creation of 9 event stages, talent casting, styling and production .

Co-ordination of the team on the event day.
